Wrights of Howth Smokehouse
We produce smoked salmon, trout and mackerel for our wholesale customers and our retail shops. Our smokehouse is located in our premises on the West Pier in Howth.

Wrights of Howth make every possible effort to source our fish as close to home as possible. Local sourcing means fresher fish. No part of the country is too far from one of our refrigerated vans, ensuring you receive the freshest fish possible. Where we must source internationally, we try to have as direct a connection with the source as possible.

Our Sustainability Vision
At Wrights of Howth, we aim to integrate sustainability into every aspect of our business. We are committed to doing business the right way, based on a culture of environmental protection and compliance. With a commitment to reducing our carbon footprint we only transport fish across the country if it cannot be sourced locally. As transport is an ever-increasing cost, it makes commercial sense too.

Traceability
All our fish is traceable through the industry approved labelling system which includes a batch number, catchment area, packing date and best before date.

Skill
Our fishmongers take pride in their skills which they pass on through training each new team member.

Hygiene and Food Safety
We operate all our policies and procedures by our food safety management system which is regulated by HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point). Our staff are fully trained to HACCP standards across our entire business and we have recently invested heavily in our factory premises on Howth Pier so that we sit comfortably above the recommended standards.
