About Casa Vinicola Botter: Founded in 1928 in the Veneto region, 30 kms northeast of Venice, by Carlo Botter, the company began as a small business trading in local Veneto wines in barrels and demijohns. The purchase of a small winery and a few acres of land in Veneto allowed Carlo to start bottling wines from his own estate. Now run by the third generation Bottter family it continues to make wines from its own vineyards, the 60 hectare organic La Di Motte estate in Veneto and Fruili. Drawing on more than 70 years of winemaking experience the company also vilifies grapes from estates across Italy, from Veneto in the North to Apulia and Sicily in the South, giving it a truly national identity and a large portfolio of very high quality wines.

Vinification: The destemmed and soft pressed grapes are vinified using the traditional “submerged cap” system, carefully controlled to extract delicate tannins and varietal fruit characteristics. Fermentation and maceration last 12/15 days at a controlled temperature not exceeding 28 ° C. At the end of this step, alcoholic and malolactic fermentation is completed. The wine obtained is aged for 24 months, at least 9 of which in wooden barrels.

Description: Primitivo di Borgo del Mandorlo is an Apulian wine born in the provinces of Taranto and Lecce, where the Pliniana spring is found, a natural cave in which an almond tree has grown. The wine has taken its name from this place.

Vegan friendly. This wine has a very solid structure due to the elevated alcohol and the balance between the soft tannins and acidity. In the glass the wine shows an intense purple colour. The nose releases pleasant hints of ripe red and black fruit. On the palate it is warm, full-bodied, with soft tannins and excellent persistence.
Excellent with grilled meats, roasts and aged cheeses.

ABV: 14.5%
